Description: Be-bop vocalist Christiana Drapkin will be visiting Mike in Tucson. Mike and Christiana have been playing together for 20 years! They collaborated on "I've Got the World on a String", released in 2008. In June, Mike, Christiana, Anita Thomas and Tommy Cecil take the stage at Blues Alley in Washington, DC. This will make it Mike's 7th appearance at Blues Aley.

The Workshop is free to members and $10 for non-members. The workshop is led by local jazz guitarist, Mike Geller, and will focus on learning jazz standards from The Real Book and Great American Songbook. Participants will learn to play with a jazz combo in a fun, focused, and supportive environment. The workshop is open to all instruments, and all levels of players, including musicians of other genres who want to expand their jazz vocabulary and chops. Advanced players often sit in and offer advice, much like an open jam session, creating a great low-pressure learning environment. Backline includes drums, 88-key piano and a bass amp. Guitar players, bring your instrument and amp.
